Find a character you enjoy, and practice executing his moves consistently and learning which of his attacks are good for what. This means doing challenge mode and training mode. Training mode is boring but a it&#39;s a good player&#39;s best friend. If you can&#39;t do a fireball 9/10 or 10/10 times, you should go into training mode and keep doing the move (both on the left and right side) until it sinks into your muscle memory.</p> <p>2. Once you&#39;ve found a character you would like to &#39;main&#39;, check out his in-depth profile on <a href="www.eventhubs.com">EventHubs</a>. They have a section which explains common fighting game terminology, and if you check the character profiles out you&#39;ll see explanations on how to perform their attacks, what those attacks are good for and so on. The information on EventHubs should be <em>pure gold</em> to anyone starting out on SF4.</p> <p>3. Use the Street Fighter IV tag on these forums to see some of the topics I posted with competitive level match replays. Look at how the best are using their characters and take from them what you feel you can use in your play style. <a href="www.streetfighterdojo.com">Street Fighter Dojo</a> is a fantastic site for this, as it lets you search competitive matches based on the characters you want to see fighting.</p> <p>4. Since you&#39;re at the bottom of the food chain when it comes to fighting games in general, the thing you can do most to impact your performance is <strong>practice, practice &amp; practice</strong>.
