We often get new ideas for designs on ACFA and I think having a topic to get feedback on these concepts can't be a bad thing. Minutes ago I posted a matchmaking topic to get some teamwork going in ACFA between Zetzio members who own the game. Here is a good starting point to discuss what type of design we could make to benefit a four-man team of mechs.
I'm looking to make a very offensive design to use in a four-man team. It will specialise in close combat and will be rather lightly armoured which is a sacrifice I make for keeping my speed above average. I'm trying to decide if I want to use a blade on it since if you guys are keeping someone busy, I could get lucky and land a devastating blade strike on them.
I've also not settled on my legs. I favour quads since they move very fast on the ground but they consume too much EN when flying. Normal biped legs are balanced but lack the breakneck quick-boost speed I feel when using quads on land. Assuming one of you has a good design which has good air superiority (perma-flight?) I could go with quads and focus on enemies who stay grounded a lot.
On my other hand I will most likely equip a Motorcobra machine gun as it has lots of ammunition for a single weapon, has good damage when using sustained fire and compliments my blade since it's a short range weapon. I'm not sure about back weapons but I was thinking maybe SAPLA (Grenade) or KAMAL (Slug). SAPLA only has ten shots but it could compliment my machine gun very well, I could use the Motorcobra to take down the enemy's PA, then hit them in the face with the grenade canon. KAMAL on the other hand takes down PA instantly if it hits, and can do good damage if all the slugs hit up close.
