Ordered my girlfriend to go and grab me this from Gamestation whilst I'm at work - so with any luck I'll have it later.

Man, this postal strike sucks dick. All the stuff I ordered should have arrived by now, and yet they haven't. I was hoping to enjoy the little statue that comes with the collector's edition so that at least I have some eye candy whilst my PC is down, yet I am not even given this luxury.

I wonder what components it would take for my PC to run this beauty. Obviously some RAM and a new Video Card, but i'm hoping not much else, as i'd be able to get those in the next few months and play this.
EDIT
For Graphics Card, i'm thinking this
And for RAM, this.BTW, are most cards and RAM compliant with any motherboard?

Not at all - your motherboard will dictate which RAM and video cards you can use. As will your Power Supply.
Let me know what motherboard you have.
That RAM is probably slower RAM than you can actually use, and the video card has some OK numbers - but you will probably notice the cheapness of it.

Not particularly sure which is the motherboard, so i'll just post my information.

I assume it's a Gateway 4260 machine then?
Try going here to find out which motherboard you have - as that information doesn't tell me.
Posted 2 years ago # | -
Yeah, it's a 4260. Just had a look in the case, but I can't see anything detailing what motherboard it is.
Did you mean to post a link when you said "Try going here"?

Ok, i'm slightly confused now. I've followed that link, and entered my serial number, but it says it's and invalid S/N. And also, despite my dxdiag saying the machine is a Gateway 4260uk, the machine is actually eMachines. Are these all part of the company, or is something weird happening?
EDIT
Just noticed that it say's System Information cannot be recovered for machines purchased outside of the US, and the UK site doesn't have an option to recover information.

May have got it. If i'm right in what i've read from a few websites, the Bios number contains the motherboard make and model?
If that is the case then mine is: SR84510A.46T.0016.P07
EDIT
From what i've found by looking around, machines with the same Bios, have motherboard: Intel Plumb Island D845EPI / Sea Breeze D845GVSR / Villanova D845GLVA.
But I can't be certain.

What kind of a fucking mobo name is that?
By the way, my collector's edition arrived today. I'm just listening to the soundtrack and staring at my Asmodian statue... Shame I can't actually PLAY it yet... Fuck man.

Yeah, the motherboard i have is: Intel Plumb Island D845EPI / Sea Breeze D845GVSR / Villanova D845GLVA.
I downloaded a program called Everest which seem's quite useful.
I was looking around the Aion website earlier, and if i pick the game up, i'd most likely roll a Sorcerer.

Fuck sake, just got back from work and want to play Aion, but have to wait 50 minutes in the queue. WTF? If I pay £40 for a game I should be able to play it any time I want, without waiting!
Posted 2 years ago # | -
Seem's there may actually be an advantage to waiting to get the game, no fucking ques.
Posted 2 years ago # | -
That is quite a common thing to experience in newly launched MMOs Matthew. NCSoft said they would be adding more servers soon so there's no waiting times but until then I suggest you log in and avoid logging out for as long as possible.
Oh, and here's a quick video I recorded of the Collectors Edition box contents.

So, anyone playing Aion? Post the server you play on and what is your name.
I play on Telemachus Server and my name is Metafaze, also created an Elyos Character on the Spatlos server, but don't really use it.
Here's my epic level 35 Templar :D

We all play on Spatalos, my PC died on the day of launch so I'm an LV1 Scout.
