This topic is pretty much for the Londoners like George, Michael and Matthew. Yesterday night I organised the first of hopefully many anime meet-ups in London. The point of the meet-up was simple; after seeing how many anime fans there were from London at LAC, I decided to get these guys together again for a monthly meet-up where we can chat about anime/manga/games and plan some kind of activity. Like I said, last night was the first one I organised and we started simple by planning to meet in a pub in central London, this meant that whether you live in North, East, South or West you'd generally be travelling the same distance to reach the venue.
I'm happy to say the meet-up went quite well. We had ten people who said they would attend, and in the end we had eight people turn up. We ordered some booze, messed about on our PSP/DS systems and spent the vast majority of the night chatting about random crap (but in a good way).
Anyway, because it went well, I've decided to this again in August but this time plan a new activity. I'm still trying to come up with ideas but the easy choices are to go to Hyde Park together with some booze if the weather's not bollocks, or go to the cinema together to watch The Untouchables or whatever it was called since that hits cinemas next month.
