I'm playing through this and Killzone 2 at the moment. I know quite a few of you picked this up so I'm surprised nobody bothered making a topic about it. I've not completed the game yet but to sum up my opinion so far, this is basically what the first Assassin's Creed should have been like. So who else has played it?

I need to get this. I was in HMV today standing over the games for about 20 mins deciding between this, boarderlands and Dragons age. I just could not decide so got nothing in the end.
This looks good but £40 is alot to spend on a SP only game, how long is it, are there side quests.Posted 2 years ago # | -
It's longer than the first game and there are side quests but we're not talking about content that will rival the re-playability of Oblivion. You might as well go for Dragon Age instead even though I personally would rather buy that game on PC.

bordelands owns! it took 20 hours to complete and i dient do even HALF of all side quests!

I played Borderlands at the MCM Expo, it wasn't too special unfortunately.

No george don't bother spending 40 quid on it. I loved it but the interest is definitly gone after you complete it. You'd have to be a real hardcore fan to want to do all the collection side quests. Took me about 10-12 hours including buying all the upgrades i could get, and 800+ achievements, and then i lent it to my mate. Aint missed it since but it was definitly a very enjoyable 10-12 hours.
What i loved most in this game was being dis-armed and then grabbing their own weapons and shit. Infact the only way to kill the massive guys in armour i found was to go to bare handed and grab his massive axe or pike or w/e. The pike kills were lulz.
Also why the fuck was Altairs outfit black?

Yeah that's how I disarmed the heavy troops too. As a matter of fact, I find it most enjoyable to just switch to fists and fight like that from the get-go.

I rented this out last week and managed to complete it before I had to take it back to Blockbusters.
I thought it was acually pretty awesome. Such a massive step up from AC1. The missons are so much more varied, I got bored with AC1, having to repeat the same actions in each city. Plus the additions of vehicles like the carriage and flying machine sequence were good. A wider range of enemies also made the game more interesting.
The only down side to the ame for me was the ending. *POTENTIAL SPOILERS* First of, it may have been just me, but I couldn't understand what the woman was saying. Her voice was too muffled, so it was hard to figure out what she was blabbering about. From what I could gather, AC3 will be fighting the fucking sun? Also the end sequence in the warehouse was all a bit anti-climatic. I anticipated some dramatic escape, having to flee in a big parkour chase sequence. Not just bash through his men, and watch the old bloke drive away in a van.

I'm up to the part where you have to fly into the palace using Leonardo's invention. How far am I into the story Jamie? I want to get this game over with so I can move onto something else, even though it is significantly better than AC1, it's not doing a great job keeping me pinned to my TV like MGS4 had done.

Probably a another hour/hour and half till you finish.

Just curious about something - are you able to continue playing the game even after completing the story missions? Like if I wanted to complete the story and THEN go and explore the Assassin's Tombs etc., is that possible?
Posted 2 years ago # | -
Yeah, you can. Although I didn't get time to do so as I had to return the game.

Well, just completed the main story. I've seen 'The Truth' so all I want to do now is play through all the Assassin Tombs and that's the game finished in my books.

I kind've wish that we'd gotten to play more along the streets of Rome. Such an amazing city, but you only get to see it from way up at the top of that cathedral or w/e.
And i thought you would've done the tombs first. Gets you Altairs outfit which is the best armour you can get, naturally. As i said before though, still don't know why it was black.

By the time you unlock all the tombs, the story is nearly finished so I didn't bother rushing to get Altair's outfit. Besides, the combat is ridiculously easy, you could beat the game with little trouble using the default armour. Did you get Altair's sword from one of the merchants to complete the set?
