This is the closest thing to Splinter Cell you will get any time soon, and I'm fucking shocked at how awesome this game looks considering it's using a comic book licence (Iron Man game FAILED). I'm at work right now, typing this on my netbook so can't really be bothered linking to videos but Google it and see for yourself, totally worth keeping an eye on.

Did you see the developer demo where he's swinging from pillar to pillar and taking out the thugs like a ninja? I was completely ignoring this game until I saw that gameplay footage, at which point my draw dropped down to my waist, only to be held up by my massive penis. :P

Exactly...that footage alone took me away..im rent this asap...and hopefully they release a demo tht i can just play over and over and over...lol

Well after me Dwayne and Mus got a hands-on at MCM, holy crap. This game plays like a dream, context sensitive controls work perfectly, the animations are really really smooth, very little clipping, the combat is chunky and visceral. As Mus said when he was playing it, definatly pre-ordering it. I have some footage of it in action, I'll get it up soon. I also think Mus is writting up a first impressions for the blog.

Indeed I am. It's not often we get to play something before launch, so this is as close to a preview we'll get. Though officially, I do not do previews on the blog, so it won't be called that. ;]

The demo is up for this game on xbox live. I am downloading it now it looks good from the vidoes I watched.

Yeah, I was planning to post about this but never got around to finishing all my RSS feeds. I downloaded the demo Friday morning but have yet to play it.

I just played the demo and game is going straight no my preorder list.

Er it wasn't that great..
Well i might buy it but i'll have to read more about it.. i guess i can't define the whole game just on a demo.Posted 2 years ago # | -
They picked a great time for this games launch since the stealth elements will help keep fans of Splinter Cell busy for a short time. Though Arkham Asylum isn't breaking new grounds in gameplay, the elements they're using are well executed which is especially surprising consider it's based on a non-gaming licence. I added it to my pre-order list as soon as I played it at the London Expo in May, and being able to see the stealth elements of the game in the demo has done nothing but solidify my pre-order.

I added it to my lovefilm list. The demo was fun, I liked the action but it sort of reminded me of Assassin creed where I just wait and do counters the whole time.
The stealth was good, although being able to see though all the walls and see the enemies could make it a bit easy.
I thought the controls where good, it never did something I Did not want or get in the way. yea the camera was a bit annoying but still alot better than most 3rd person games.]
Hope we get some more bat toys or weapons to play with, I really wanted to pick up the enemies guns but of couse batman does not use guns.
I think it will be a fun game to rent.Posted 2 years ago # | -
I think combat will be more interesting when you're fighting many armed opponents. You can't 'counter' a guy who has a gun after all, so you will need to take them down ASAP before fighting the unarmed opponents. As long as the game doesn't get repetitive like Assassin's Creed, I know I'll enjoy it. Let's just hope there's more to the game than what was shown in the demo. :]

Yeah, this is okay. The combat is quite fun, but the camera is annoying and I'm so very tired of games being developed on the Unreal engine and having mediocre graphics.

My copy arrived today and I've been playing it since I got home from work. I've yet to regret spending £40 on this game as so far it has kept me interested and entertained pretty damn well. The variety of combat, stealth and puzzles has been good so far, but I'm only 10% into the game apparently, so I'm curious to see if I remain interested 'till the end.

Alright, I'm 50% through the game and still lovin' it. Similar to Metroid games, when you gain a new tool, it lets you access areas you previously couldn't and this is handled very well. Arkham Asylum's pacing is just excellent though, and it seems I'm not the only one in love with this game as Metacritic has it on 91 already.

This game is immense, i havent played a game this good in some time. The way its done the way the enemies react it's just pure amazing.

Yup, and I just completed the story mode. Pushing for some high scores on challenge mode now, trying to beat my friends' scores. I'll probably play through story mode again when I have time.

I completed this like a week ago and it was really sick..at first i was like why is batmans suit getting raped and wanted to get it perfect again..but then it really suited the final battle.. scarecrow boss battles were really cool and ivy is you know ivy :P failed on her boss battle a few times just to see some gameover screens rofl.

Pissed me of that when this game is released I have no money and no Xbox. As soon as my EMa starts coming through i'll pick this up.

Rocksteady are considering a sequel depending on how well the game does. Considering it's top of the UK charts AND critics have given it positive scores, this is getting a sequel.
