I was planning to make my next army from Fantasy Battle but I've completely forgotten 40K rules already so I doubt I could remember the rules for both games. Instead, I'll just build an army for my second favourite faction, the Eldar, who happen to be one of the main armies.

MemberWell Chaos Rising comes out in 24 hours and I was wondering if anybody is going to pick it up.
I have only played DOW 2 for a few hours and while it was fun I am not sure I am going to pick up the expansion pack. I just dont play the game enough for me to warrent it.Posted 1 year ago # | -
I was on DoW2 yesterday, since my PC is fixed I decided to play all of my RTS games. I don't plan on picking the expansion up on launch, but I do plan on picking it up once I've finished the original campaign in DoW2.
You don't have to buy the expansion to get the new units for each faction and the multiplayer patch. The expansion just gives you a new campaign against Chaos, lets you use Chaos on multiplayer which is something I don't care about, and that's basically it. I'm not going to play DoW2 seriously until I see some fucking Tau up in this bitch.

Hopefully they've sorted it out by now, I had a quick skirmish against the CPU this morning before work but since mine has already installed now, it's hard to notice any server issues.

A very noteworthy update has been released for DOW2 recently. 2.2.3 changes how units use cover and increases their turn speed, the link below explains the details of this update. To sum it up however, the update makes kiting easier and maximizes the DPS of all units during combat by making them focus on shooting instead of running for cover etc.

Yeah, I would very much like to use DOW2 as my template for learning how to play RTS games competitively. Most of my free online gaming time is spent on SSF4 because it's balanced and solo, unlike FPS games which nearly always require a solid team for victory.

MemberThe Next Expansion is coming out in March. Not heard much info on it, but the standard New Army plus new units for each races. The main thing is the SP is not just SM.
