The sequel to Dissidia has just been announced in a Japanese games mag, Weekly Shonen Jump. It's slated for release next year, and so far Lightning from FFXIII and Kane from FFIV look to be new characters this time round. Apparently it'll be shown at TGS.

I saw that Dissidia was downloaded illegally five million times in a related Kotaku article just now. It's basically the most pirated PSP game ever at the moment, pretty damn crazy how much potential sales Sony may be losing due to piracy.
Looking forward to this but not to the point I'm hyped. I knew it was going to happen, but since it Square Enix I'm not exactly expecting them to majorly balance the game based on fan feedback like Capcom tend to do. They'll just add some new playable characters that never got into the first one, maybe add a new mechanic that barely changes the gameplay and focus the rest of their time on stages, story and items which is normally the least of a developer's worries when making fighting games.
