Right I feel my Other log is getting too crowded and is a sort of miss match of models.
So this one will be focusing just on my Flesh Tearers.
A little bit of Background on the Flesh Tearers:

The Flesh Tearers chapter was created in M31 when Roboute Guilliman decreed in his Codex Astartes that no longer should a single individual control the might of an entire Space Marine Legion. Thus the Blood Angels were divided into several successor chapters; one of these being the Flesh Tearers. Their reputation for blood-letting quickly spread in the aftermath of the Horus Heresy, indicating that the extensive flaw in their gene-seed was already present at their creation. Instead of checking the rumours of entire populations wiped out, the High Lords of Terra simply looked at the long list of worlds pacified and ignored the inconsequential lists of casualties.

After thousands of years as a crusading chapter the Flesh Tearers eventually settled on an extremely hostile Death World known as Cretacia. A lost colony of primordial humans proved perfect recruits for the chapter, being pure of taint and extremely strong. The world lies deep in the galactic west.

The chapter has since become more and more dependent on the easy access to recruits, as their gene-seed mutation gradually worsens. More and more marines succumbs to the Black Rage, with few marines older than a two centuries. As of late M41, the Flesh Tearers only have 4 full companies of marines, less than half of the normal number. If the degradation of their gene-seed continue at the same rate they will count no more than 200 marines within a millennium.

Over the years several Imperial bodies have questioned the combat doctrines and sanity of the Flesh Tearers. Many have refused to fight alongside the chapter: disgusted by their savagery in combat or fearing they would get caught up in the bloodshed along with the enemy. The chapter has been under Inquisitorial investigation since the Kallern Massacres of M36.

Another example of their bloodlust happened during the Third War for Armageddon, in which 5 companies were deployed in the Fire Wastes alongside the Sisters of Battle of the Order of the Argent Shroud. Their combined force was fighting against Warlord Rukglum artillery unit, deployed within the settlement of Gaius Point. Civilians in the area had formed a rabble militia to help the Imperial forces and to protect their homes. The Flesh Tearers deployed behind the Orks and pushed them onto the waiting guns of the militia and Sisters. After wiping out the main body of the Orks, the Flesh Tearers proceeded to mount the barricades and slaughter the militia in their insatiable bloodlust. The Sisters withdrew rather than having to fight their former ally. The leader of the Order of the Argent Shroud has since reported this incident to the Inquisition, demanding the destruction of this chapter.

    Chapter Badge:

Ok sorry for the massive fluff post but I enjoy the fluff and think it adds to the army.

Right now I only have my Death Company plus a bunch of Tac marines. I dont have anything painted yet as my paints are at home but I have asked my mum to send them to me but I bet she will send the wrongs ones. I know its bad in the 40k community to start a log without pictures but it helps me get focused if I have some where to post.

Here is the paint scheme I am going for

Here are the lists I am making. I am only buying the models on these lists unlike my other armies where I buy everything I like. So far I have been lucky on ebay and got a bunch of attack bikes for a £5 again they are covered in paint but are the old metal kind so not to bad to strip. I am sort of kicking myself for not getting space hulk for the great BA terminators.

WoW sorry I have not updated this. I only get to time to paint twice a week and I have to choose between playing video games or painting and most of the time video games win out.

I have never really used Red as a main colour before so thought it would be a good test. I am working on that at uni as I only have around 10 paints here so I cant do much detail so just trying to get the red done on the 10 models I have here.

I decided to use this old model as a test. He does have arms that are painted but I did not what to stick them on yet. I have only done the red as this is really only a test for the red. If he looks good at the end I may repaint the black and highlight it.

Right so far I have painted him like this
    Basecoat: Mechrite Red
Next coat: Mechrite Red +Red Gore
    Highlight: Red Gore
Edge Highlight: Red gore + Blood red

I watered down all my colours alot but I think I may have to redo stages 4 and 5 as when they dried they did not really show.
Also what colour should I paint the eagle.

Did a bit more today on a different model. Bare in mind the only paints I have here are 3 reds, 2 greys, bleached bone and bolt gun metal so cant do much.
The red in this photo has only been undercoated mechrite red so still need to do alot on that. Was just testing the bone against the red and the eagle. I like the idea of painting it white so undercoated it with grey. Was also trying some grey highlights on the helmet as the helmet and shoulderpads will be black.
The gems will be purple as I have seen a few space hulk Blood angels models using them and they look good. Thinking of blue eyes as red seem to be a bit overdone. In the fluff they have black eyes but I think I need something to break up the black helmet.

Did a tiny bit more work on him last night

Still got a lot to do on him but he is getter there.
I am having problems with some of my pictures being over 2mb which is to large to upload on photobucket any idea how I can make the size smaller.

Think you can do it through Photoshop, can't remember how though.

Resizing them is the most obvious solution. With Photoshop there is a "save for web" option that lets you tweak the image quality so you can find a good balance between clarity and file size. I'm sure there are other ways to do this without Photoshop but I'm not aware of them personally.

How are your pictures more than 2mb if they are just JPEGs?

no idea, when I take normal photos on my camera they are saved at just over 2mb will look around in the settings and see if I can desize them filewise.
Just thought I would throw up a quick picture of what I have been working on these few days, these are still working in progress but I only need to give the red two more washes and find a way to do the parcment and I am basicly done.
    Heavy flamer

Assault cannon (the guy without an arm, must easier to paint then glue it one) and Chainfist.

I started these yesterday when It was snowing and I did not what to leave my house.
For my flesh tearers I bought some Space hulk terminators off ebay now as these are OOP I thought they would cost an arm and a leg. But for £22 plus P&P i manged to get 6 Terminators and one Liberian which if I had brough the GW normal models would have cost around £36 and i would have had 1 less model and they would not look as nice.
I should finish these tonight or tomorrow, then I cant start work on my other terminators.

Just thought I would quickly post this before I left for GW to get a chaplain in terminator armour and 5 Assault Terminators.

Finished the 3 terminators and undercoated 2 more to finish the squad.
Today I was working on my battleforce I picked up the other day. I have made all the Tac marines and scouts still need to do asm and rhino.
In my army list I have 3 sarges so thought I would paint them up today. Will have them done tomorrow.Need to go get flesh colours for there faces dont have any. Going to put a blood drop or a transfer on the white circle on the banner.
Here is a wip and a quick question no idea what colour to paint the thing roman thing between the guy with the pf legs.
The white needs a few more coats its a bitch to look right.
The camera seems to be washing out the highlights on the red.

Last week I was able to get my hands on the playtest copy of the new BA codex and damn is it tasty. Still not quite as good as the SW one mainly due to how good and cheap SW troops are but still a massive improvement over the PDF.
Been trying to get a few test lists but I still have Shiny toy syndrome and carry on trying to add all the new stuff.

Was happy to see that Seth Chapter Master of the Flesh Tearers was in it but his rules arnt great. He is armed with a massive chainsaw which counts as a Chainfist and his rules make nearly every BA unit have FC. So Tactical marines hitting with St5 and I5 on the charge nice. The only problem is he also gives them all rage. Which means they have to move towards the closest enemy unit and charge it if possible. This means people can bait your units with empty transports and that is nearly impossible to hold objs. Attack bikes become quite useless if they start running off trying to charge people instead of firing there MMs. Also with rage inf always count as moving so no heavy weapons for a flesh tearer army.
There are a few units in the army which have a 6"-12" bubble which stop the effects of rage but they are rare.

So going to have to vastly rethink my army lists.

I have scraped my idea of A flesh tearer army. I know 3 people at my club doing BA and one is doing FT. While I thought the idea was cool at the start the fluff did not grab me much for them.

So I have stripped my space marines and turned them in to White Scars. Only painted one so far but was not as hard as I thought it would be.

Been reading up on how to take better photos of models and I think I have finally got it. I also made today two objective markers for fun, 1 set of sandbags and 1 set of barrels not that exicting but you need objectives.

    Painting process:
    1. White primer
    2. Paint black or metal areas black (I use Vallejo Game and Model colors)
    3. Paint metal areas with metal colors
    4. Paint red areas
    5. Paint eyes
    6. Touch up all of the mistakes with watered-down white.
    7. Outline the model with a .005 micro pen (god Send)
8.Apply weathering powders (Tamiya Weathering Master sets A & B)

Looks damn fine lad! Would you mind doing a bit of a tut on using the powders? I've been thinking of picking up some for my Tau but I haven't been able to find a really decent tuturiol.

Glad you like him. I was going to do a painting tutorial on how to paint white scars and use the powders but had a small problem. I had 3 spare marines went to spray them white with my new spray and it is pooling really bad in the cracks. Not sure if I did not shake it enough as my room is pretty cold or got a dodge batch. But not sure if I can save the models as quite alot of detail is gone will have to strip them or get some more.
Will post up a tut on the powders soon, tbh they arnt hard to use its sort of like drybrushing with heavy pigment paints.

You can probaly strip it and not have too much trouble. I've heard Cillet Bang works really well, I picked up a bottle at Wilkinsons the other day, I plan to test it on the metal XV-15s I got on eBay. Looking foward to your thoughts on the usage of the poweders.

Does cillet bang work with plastic, I have heard a few things that strip metal melt plastic.

I've heard it works fine with the plastics, no damage at all. Again I've yet to use it myself however.

ok will have to test it out. Yea I have only stripped metal models and I used a type of oven cleaner it worked well but think it would be too strong for plastic.
