I'm looking for some good multiplayer games that play very well when gaming with friends in the same room. List me some good ones for any console and I'll try checking them out via LoveFilm. Getting bored of only playing Halo 3 cp-op, Street Fighter IV and Guitar Hero III when people come over, need some new split-screen titles.

I am intrested in this as well, as Iam trying to get my uni friends more into games. They love playing Halo 3 split screen but as you said that does get dull after playing it nearly every day.
TBH just having alook at the games I own there are very few split screen games any more.
GOW2 is ok split screen as there are bots or horde but its not that fun. COD 4 split screen sucks as you cant make your own classes and my friends dont find it fun to play 1v1s on.
I guess you could look at some racing games they tend to have split screen. Are you looking for MP style split screen or Co-Op Campaigns ?

I have the same problem George, very few new games have good split-screen options these days. Some games naturally work well, like fighting and sports games because you share a single screen with everyone. FPS games are best left for co-op because people can look at your screen to avoid surprises and this can lead to someone getting annoyed.
A few suggestions from my collection:
Halo 3 (co-op)
Gears of War 2 (co-op)
Street Fighter IV (versus)
Guitar Hero (co-op / versus)Posted 2 years ago # | -
Yea when every I was playing Halo, my friends would be like how did you know I was there, well I Just looked at your screen. At the start it gave me a massive advantage but once everybody knows the levels it balances out but it does get annoying as you cant really ambush people or snipe.
The 2 guys in my house I play with dont like fighting games which is annoying, but they do love racing games. I just finding racing games a bit boring unless they add something to it like burnout or games that give the cars gun.
My list is basiclly the same the only games I play Co-op at uni are:
Halo 3(versus)
Gears of War2(co-op, Versus)
Guitar hero world tour(Co-op, Versus)
Resistance fall of Man(Campaign)
Little Big Planet(co-op)Think that is about it.
I am not sure but I did hear that borderlands will have co-op. Now I dont argee with there new art design but if it has good co-op I may look at it.

Burnout Paradise has no split-screen multiplayer which is one of the biggest downsides to the game in my opinion. Mario Kart is a good racing game to play with friends, but I find it a bit annoying when some lucky guy gets a blue shell and rapes you just when you were about to cross the finish line.

Oh yea knew there was one I forgot, we use to play Mario kart so much on the Wii but the guys who owned it took it home for easter holidays and never brought it back which sucked as its was quite fun with 4 people.
Still havent played Paradise its on my love film list. That sucks that there is no split screen, I always enjoyed split screen on burnout 3 although with split screen it was qutie hard to see what was going on when you boosted and the screen blured but that was part of the fun.
Maybe I will have to bring my N64 back to uni and set up some golden eye.I wish gaming companys would still put some effort into Split screen, yes we can play on live and I do but there are times I would actually like to play games when I have mates over.

NFS: Underground 2
NFS: Most Wanted
NFS: UndercoverThere's some other racing games.
If you have any Nintendo console, Smash Bros is the shit. For co-op I would say Resident Evil 5 and maybe Rainbow Six 1 or 2 for terrorist hunt. Also Army of Two is good for co-op.

This is a kind of odd suggestion but I personally find that Phantasy Star Online for the original Xbox and Monster Hunter / Phantasy Star Portable on the PSP are great games to play with friends if you're looking for an MMO-style RPG experience with your mates.

Let's get some more suggestions guys, most of the listed games are ones I've already got. I might write a feature on this at some point, showcase games that work really well on split-screen, or just do a top ten (although I hate list articles).

One more bump since this list can still be expanded.

Thought I would give this a massive bump.
With exams coming to a end I have alot more freetime and as we finally got some more controllers for the PS3 I am looking for some PS3 split screen games.
So anybody know any good ones ?Posted 2 years ago # | -
