Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of the jews :| and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater those are 2 must have ps2 games in my opinion. Also Deus Ex along with Fahrenheit are must own games in book.
Oddworld Abe and MGS1 are two games I grew up on so they are gems in my eyes. Also not forgetting Syphon Filter 1, 2 and 3. I think the 2nd one was the best, shit load of missions, gameplay was fun and had a good story line.
Played all of those BUT MGS3. Still got the art book for MGS2, I even dug out the first PS1 MGS the other day - it's mazing how far games have progressed over the past 10 or so years :)
Beyond Good & Evil, Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 and Okami come to mind. Also Resident Evil 4 if you never played that, since IMO it's the best in the series. I have quite a few PS2 games but most of them are probably not the type you'd like, as in RPGs and obscure shit like that.
The GF has Okami - still sealed - I know it's a crime! Never played Beyond Good and Evil - is that available on Originals?
I've got Resi 4 on GC but never really appreciated (liked) the way it works - the combat/movement always put me off.

Devil May Cry 3 (This one is personally my favourite in the series)
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 (It's a JRPG, but apparently an excellent one)
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time (The best PoP out of the first three IMO)
Games that didn't stand out but I played to death:
Armored Core: Last Raven (mecha)
Zone of the Enders: The Second Runner (mecha)
Front Mission 5 (mecha, US import)
Only played DMC1 & DMC2 - plan to catch up with DMC3 & DMC4. As for JRPGs I have a few to get through as is and time is my greatest enemy when it comes to games that consume time :( I spent DAYS on FFVII - was hardly out of my PS1 until I did everything I could in that game! Never played any FF after that because of the time spent on FFVII :(
I only played the PoP: SOT demo - never really owned any of those so might check the good ol ebay for those.
Anyone every play Psychonauts or OddWorld Strangers Wrath? Nempthis you realy like those mechas huh - did you ever try Steel Battalion?
I bought some Old Xbox games recently - they are:
