I've not been on SF4 much since my interest for COD4 jumped up out of the blue recently. I'm hoping you haven't sold your copy Jamie, so up for some matches?

Cool, just update the topic when you're up for some games on the day. And of course you were beasting on Michael, he probably doesn't even know any combos. I've gotten really rusty so maybe some matches against your Zangief will help me catch up. :]

MemberHe's lieing btw, i beat him once or twice when he wasnt Zangrief .. i can do most of the combos with ken and Ryu. I meant to buy the game but havn't gotten round to it.

Hold the fucking phone. I just saw the game is going to be available for Steam in 4 days for only 26.99. Is it that price for 360? If not i might just buy it on PC. Never played a fighter on PC before.

I doubt you know most of the combos for Ken or Ryu. You're probably talking about special attacks like Fireball and Uppercut, not actual combos. This is normal of course, I would be surprised if you knew how to pull off a few combos when you don't even have the game. Jamie's main is Zangief so when he's not using him, he plays pretty shit most of the time.
About the Steam deal, I've been telling you all since the day it came out that the console version of SF4 was £30 on launch and probably still is. It's just £3 cheaper on Steam, probably because it came out so late and also because most fighting game enthusiasts don't buy fighting games on PC, though I'm sure there is nothing particularly wrong with the PC version. Get it on 360 so we can at least have the pleasure of whooping your ass, I don't want to leave the honours to some Yank in matchmaking.

My 60GB 360 HDD just arrived this morning and it comes with an Xbox Live headset and a 3 month gold code, both are things I don't really need. I can give you the 3 month gold code if you like, that should last you a while.

To block you just hold the opposite direction you're facing from your opponent. So if you're on the left and your opponent is on the right side of the screen, you just hold left or down-left to block high and low respectively.
Try out the various characters and find one you like the play-style of, and then play a few of the challenge trials which will teach you some basic combos for that character. I'll teach you the basics when we play, but as with any game, don't expect to beat a good player without putting in the effort to practice.
Unlike FPS games, I find fighting games demand a lot less mistakes in how you execute a manoeuvre. So going into training mode and doing the same attack 30 times to make sure you can pull it off flawlessly helps a lot. I still fuck up so many moves when playing.

Won't be playing tongight. Today was officially my last day of college/school ever. So going to a girl's 18th birthday party, and getting wasted with mates that I may not see for a while.
I'll regeret it in the morning.
