Right, so when i get my new PC and it's hopefully going to be alot better at playing games ( And i'm also going to avoid shitting it up full of downloads.. i think i'm gonna keep all of that on an External drive ), i'm going to need some PC games to play. Now i think i'm already getting Left 4 Dead, Crysis Warhead, Football Manager 2009 and one more i can't remember... but we all know what's great about PC games is that there are alot of RPGs and RTS's that are excellent but just not that popular; so you can usually find them on a shelf for 20 quid or so and end up being a blast. I found that with Civilization IV - i had only really ever heard about it but not seen it advertised enough, and then for a quick 20 quid i was having hours of fun with that awesome game. So, any more suggestions like that for me to get?

I'm thinking i might get the new Neverwinter Nights expansion/game, an RPG from Bioware/obsidian (KOTOR).

Diablo 3 when it comes out, C&C, Team Fortress 2, Unreal Tournament 3, Neverwinter Nights 2...

    I'll think of more

Fuck yeah i forgot about Diablo III, when's that due to come out?

C&C i'm not really sure because i didn't like the console version as much.. but i'll assume it's a bit different on the PC. Man i wish i could get back the days of playing Company of heroes, dawn of war, Lord of the rings: Battle for middle earth. Those are the kind of RTS's i really used to love playing. I miss playing them. :(

Oh shit , i forgot about the new Total war: Empire game as well. Wonder when that's coming out.

I'm not sure of a release date for Diablo 3 actually. In fact, I don't think one has been announced.

I've always found RTS games to be better on PCs to be honest. For some reason they just don't click (lol pun) with me on consoles.

Check my post about Virtual PCs/Old Games for playing older games, although I don't imagine you'd have any problem with running things like Dawn of War.

Total War kind of went downhill for me.

I don't think the game has gotten any better than Rome: Total War even with all these expansions - but i stll love that whole aspect of building an army and an empire slowly.. crushing your enemies.. etc etc. I might try that old PC game thing because there are a few old mostly-text-based RPG's that sound really fun.

I second Team Fortress 2 as a suggestion. It's one of the few games in the world where I will openly state that playing it on a console sucks ass. I would also say Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 since I've been enjoying that on my PC recently, but it's not exactly breaking new ground in the RTS genre so don't expect to be blown away. If you want to try out an RPG then I would recommend The Witcher, you should be able to pick it up for about £20 by now I imagine.

No date for D3 yet, or SC2 either I think. If you enjoyed Civ4 then I'd recommend trying to find Sid Meires Alpha Centauri. It was made during a time where the dev team lost control of the Civ liscence, it's a sort of spirutual succesor to Civ3. I love it, old thou. I'd say the Orange Box, so many great games plus the mods that are avalible increase the lifespan ten fold. The Homeworld series are good RTS games, a bit trickey thou as they are in a 3D play field. Oh, Sacrifice, if you can find it is an awsome blend of RPG and RTS. It's played like an RTS but from a 3rd person view of your "wizard". Wow, all old game pretty much ^^.

Great ok i'll add all these games to the list.

Funny, after mentioning Civ4, i completely forgot about Sid Meir's Colonization (sp?). That just came out so i'll probably get that.

I enjoyed uplink, but wouldn't buy it unless it was below £8 to be honest.

Dont get black and white 2 it is a awful game. Dungeon keeper 2 I thought was no where near as good as the first one.

It was more just an adaptation - but it was Full 3d. Unlike the original which had been 2d.

Anyway i found out i still have Dungeon Keeper 2 in my basement.

Jeeze.. how would that work? Anyway i've been playing the original dungeon keeper 1, somehow it still works on my pc despite being 9 years old. And it's still so cool and fun.

And as for MMO's.. once i start getting more money into my online card i'll finally get one. Though if that wont be till next year i may aswell wait for the KOTOR MMO.

Not sure since I've never played Dungeon Keeper, but it's the studio's first MMO so don't hold your breath.

The Witcher is fantastic, but the controls are just a bit awkward and sluggish.

I'll be picking it up at some point since I was hyping this game before it was released. I'm just tied up with Company of Heroes and Red Alert 3 for the time being, don't want to overwhelm myself with too many RTS titles at once.
