   I recommend everyone on this forum to go see this flick. It absolutely kicks ass, no pun intended... Seriously it is one of the best films I've seen in a while. It's not morally complicated, pretentious, artsy, or anything serious that is going to warrant an Oscar or anything like that - it is just a very fun, very awesome action superhero flick.

   What I loved most about it was it's ability to keep you guessing; not having any moment as cheesy (unlike Spiderman 3 was) and actually having some really great choreographed action scenes and some great acting too. It just felt so realistic at the same time - and anything that was a bit over the top or predictable was then made out as a very tongue-in-cheek joke. Add onto that one of the best soundtracks ever (prodigy and the music from the film Sunshine) and you have an all round awesome movie that is simply just hugely entertaining to watch and that's about it.

   Oh, and despite being set in America, the film is British made. So see it for your country, Britfags.

   I saw this at the cinema last night and wasn't blown away much. It's mainly because, for an action film, there was only one action scene that really got my blood pumping. That would be the scene where Big Papa is pwning those guys in the lumber yard.

   Also that shooting scene where two people are tied to a chair was quite cool, but not enough to get me 'hyped'. This is a great popcorn movie though, but after watching Shutter Island the day before, I wanted something a bit more than a brainless bullet-festival.

   It's also worth mentioning that I went to the cinema for Hachi: A Dog's Tale, and the bastards weren't showing that yesterday so I decided to check Kick-Ass whilst I was there. It's not the next Matrix or The Dark Knight, but it's closer than most other films.

   If you were looking for an intelligent film like shutter island, why the hell would you go and watch a film entitled ' kick ass ?'

   That said, i actually thought it was a lot cleverer than a brainless bullet-festival. Not as a film much in itself but in the way it managed to make itself original to the other superhero films out there.

   I knew that Kick-Ass is an action film, I was saying that I went down to the cinema to see Hachi, but they weren't showing it so I decided to watch Kick-Ass as that was the only other film I was interested in watching.

   As you said, it was a fun movie action flick, but it's not going to win any Oscars. I personally wouldn't even class it as a superhero movie as aside from wearing costumes, two of these guys are assassins and the other one is a fucking retard.

   Most of the jokes, as with many action flicks, were predictable one-liners. Still, I ignored this and just tried to get my money's worth from the film. One of the simple but amusing gags was the big black guy and the bazooka.
