Those of you who own a copy of Fable II can pick this DLC up for 800 Microsoft points. What do you get for your money? Three new quests in three new dungeons apparently, plus new outfits, weapons and even weapon customisation. Don’t want to fork out 800 points for this when you could spend that on an XBLA game? No worries, as there is a free title update for the game today which also gives everyone offerings such as Knight’s Boots, Assassin’s Gloves, Weight Loss Potion and a collectible silver book. Lionhead has also released a patch fixing various bugs players have had issues with, hit the jump on what will no longer cause your console to explode.
Today there was a Title Update (aka patch) for Fable II, fixing the issues that were reported on our forums and that we could reproduce. Below is a list I’ve mentioned earlier, I’ll try and get additional information regarding other fixes and report those when I find out.
There has also been an update to Tales of Albion with the addition of Knothole Island. You can now find it on the Albion map in Today’s Travels.
- The Ritual/Monk’s Quest – Fixed the issue with the Abbott becoming unresponsive if you leave Oakfield before he finishes talking. This will fix the problem if you’ve already hit it, too.
- Rescuing Charlie/Rescue My Baby – after rescuing Charlie, you can now able to interact with objects. Will fix saves made when this bug was active.
- Guild Cave chest – resolves any issues with previously inability to retrieve items unlocked from Limited Collector’s Edition, website or Chicken Kickin’ game. If you’ve already hit this bug you should now get your items. If you’ve already hit this bug you should now get your items.
- The Spire (Pt2) – no more issues with ship captain being unresponsive. This will fix saves with this bug active however in order to free the captain you must go to Wescliff, leave the region and then return to it.
- The Hero of Skill (Pirate King) – you’ll no longer get stuck during Hero of Skill quest (Bloodstone). Should prevent the problem and fix if saved in a broken state, in some cases it is necessary to go to reavers mansion and allow his cutscene to play out in order to free up the hero.
- T.O.B.Y./Trouble In Bloodstone – you’ll no longer get stuck during T.O.B.Y. quests (Bloodstone). This problems manifested when a player hit one of the pirate king bugs above and so these may be remedied as above in cases where a save was made in this state – i.e. by returning to Reaver and allowing his cutscene to finish. In some cases this will not work.
- Your child – will no longer be chosen as an assassination target. This will clear the assassination quest if it was saved with your child as the target.
- Furniture Shop in Albion (Bowerstone) will now always have something for sale, it will fix cases were a save has been made in this state.
- Additional unspecified fixes
Good to see they didn’t just launch the game and forget about the bugs for ages. Sort of like a certain game which starts with Castle and ends with Crashers. Yes, I’m never going to get over that, screw you.

TBH, i never encountered any serious problems with Fable that made the gameplay worse. However the new quests won't entice me back, as sadly, 800 points is too much for 2 hours of gameplay on a game i got bored of after the first, short, playthrough.
I could use those 800 points on a game like Castle Crashers.
Yeah, I really enjoyed Fable II when it came out, but the amount it sucks seems to progress with game completion. It takes 10-15 minutes for the game to load and calculate how much money I've earnt since I last played. I really don't think I can be bothered with this.
Yeah, I think 800 points is a little steep for what they seem to be offering. Still, if sales are bad on the DLC they will have learned an important lesson.
orsum.
I've got 2100 points so.. ill get this along with the fallout 3 DLC later on this month.
