The first Gears of War 2 patch was recently released which supposedly fixes the waiting times for matchmaking sessions. That alone would have been a good enough fix, but EPIC have also said the patch will improve how stats are collected for Gears of War dot com, plus resolve an issue where players couldn’t access campaign when Xbox Live was down.

I haven’t had a chance to check the patch out myself yet, so if you’ll be on it today drop a comment with how much of a difference this new patch makes to matchmaking times. Considering that there was a time where I waited 30 minutes for a Wingman match and it couldn’t find enough players, I’m not going to smile until I see the improvements with my own eyes.
