Once again, this is yesterday’s news but it’s big news. One of my rules on Zetzio is that I do not post any rumours until something is confirmed, so I’ve been holding back on all those PSP Go! rumours until now. The rumours were right on the money as the new system will not completely replace the PSP-3000, but be sold alongside it. There will be no UMD support in the PSPG, instead you’ll be required to download games onto the 16GB in-built flash memory.

The news was leaked when GamingConsoleNetwork received an early video of this month’s Qore, which is a regular video show for all things PlayStation. Sony’s John Koller discusses the PSP Go! In the video, and reveals that titles such as LittleBigPlanet, Gran Turismo, Jak & Daxter and Metal Gear Solid will be announced at E3.

The PSP Go will be 43% lighter than the PSP-3000, which is a significant weight difference. Considering the PSP Slim was only slightly lighter than the original, I had to buy one after seeing how much of a difference that weight made for me, so 43% is excellent news. Also, it will have a 3.8 inch screen plus Bluetooth capability for use with Bluetooth headsets etc.

Eurogamer also unearthed some product shots which I’ve already uploaded for you guys, and many websites have been pointing out how similar the PSP Go is to a past Sony device. There is no date for the product’s release other than “this Fall” and of course we don’t know anything about pricing yet either.  However, with E3 going on I really doubt you’ll have to wait too long for more details.
