The free Championship Mode update will bring players replays and tournaments, while also trying to address issues like rage-quitting pussies. Tournament mode will have five levels so that there’s less situations where newbies are getting destroyed by pros. Regardless of what level you play in, you’ll earn Championship Points for winning, which can then be used to enter higher level tournaments. Character selection will be double-blind in tournaments so counter-pickers can now commence worrying about how to win without such tricks.

Replays are apparently taken from tournaments, and if I’ve understood correctly then only the top five thousand players will actually be given the option to upload their videos for all to see. There are system specific features for replay mode, with PS3 players being able to vote in real time where as 360 players can favourite videos and also turn on command input display to see what the players are pressing to perform their attacks. Capcom have also added a feature that tracks how frequently players disconnect in-game, and this percentage is displayed in pre-game lobbies so constant rage-quitters can be booted before a match can begin.
