I’m sure you’ve all laid your eyes upon the recently released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer debut trailer, if not then you can watch it after the jump. There’s a lot to take in and it was only a matter of time before someone checked the footage frame by frame to see what’s new in this trailer. I’m far too lazy to analyse a trailer, but fortunately someone at Endsights.com wasn’t, so hit the jump on the interesting things they spotted in the new footage.
- Rio de Janeiro appears to be confirmed as a location, as the “Christ the Redeemer” statue can be clearly seen in trailer.
- You’ll now be able to stick foes with grenades.
- There will be customized killstreak loadouts.
- There are 15 different killstreak rewards for you to choose from.
- One of the confirmed killstreak loadouts is the AC130 gunship, which was one of the highlights of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
- Ability to take out the AC130 gunship with an RPG
- Ability to lock-onto targets with RPGs — in the trailer, you can see the missile that is headed towards the AC130 gunship curve. Also, notice the beeping sound it makes as the RPG is held in place.
- At least one gun that will have radar-mounted on it — so when you bring up the iron sights, radar will be right in your field of vision.
- “Buzzkilling” challenge — get points for killing someone on a killstreak.
- “Payback” challenge — challenge that nets you points for killing a player that had killed you earlier in the match
- Increase in points per kill. It appears that 50 points will now be rewarded per kill, as compared to Modern Warfare’s 10. It’s unclear whether that will have any impact on leveling quicker.
- Footage is taken from the Xbox 360 version of the game.
- You will be playing as a U.S. Army Ranger for at least part of the game — a U.S. Army Ranger symbol is present.

I think the customization of kill streaks is really cool, although I can't think what would compete with an AC-130 strike, I hope there are some high streak ones, for around 20 kills, something really powerful but because of the massive streak needed for it it's still balanced.
I'm pretty sure they will have some kill streak bonuses that cater to sneakier players like myself. I hate that upon using a UAV, my next two abilities are an airstrike and chopper, both of which I don't care for. So it would be great if I called in a UAV, and my level two ability is an extended UAV that refreshes faster than the first and so on.
I like the kill streaks but really cant think of 15 unlocks. The radar on the gun is cool as well and is balanced I think because I guess when you use ironsights the radar takes up a bunch of the screen.
Its looking good so far.
Would like to see a few of the new weapons, I wonder if they will do that thing when they previewed a perk every week before it comes out.
If that radar is in fact the heartbeat sensor we saw from the singleplayer footage, I'm going to be a sad puppy. It's probablly gonna be very tough being a ninja in close proximity if someone has one of those equipped.
I was hoping it was going to be a motion sensor as a heartbeat sensor seems abit overpowered. At least you can sealth a bit when people have motion sensors. I am sure the range will be short and maybe it wont be able to tell the difference between enemies and friendlies.
Just thought I would add, there appears to be a perk that will jam the enemy radar for a bit. Thought you would enjoy something like that nemp.
It just so happens I read about someone's observation on there being some kind of radar jamming ability before seeing this comment. Yup, it definitely makes me happy but that's assuming the kill streak requirement for it is quite reasonable.
15 KILL STREAKS HOW GOOD IS THAT
