Some posters for the Halo anime that’s in production have surfaced, and if anything they’re a nice indication of the art style each studio is going for in the various shorts. Looking through each poster, the ones that catch my eye most are the one with the Master Chief going toe to toe with whatever the hell that giant thing is, and also the one I’ve used in the top image. I’m not too sure about the one by studio Bones which seems to have some sort of mecha Spartans in space or something.

WoW they all look absolutely awful. None of these even feel like Halo. If this is a indication of the art direction and character designs of the show then I will give this a miss.
It just looks awful, Halos universe is a grim dark place humanity is on its last legs and they give us this cutesy crap.
Out of all of them I guess the one where he is fighting the giant teddy bear is the best.
I don't think it's going to be cute, and I think it'll be pretty dark in fact. Keep in mind they have Frank O'Connor from 343 Industries (ex-Bungie) to make sure it feels like Halo. This is an anime adaptation and if the animation studios weren't allowed creative freedom in the visual aspect of this production then it would be a waste of time. Let the animation studios do what they do best and hopefully people familiar with Halo will handle the lore and plot of each short.
True but just looks at those marines and MC with a jetpack. Also that teddy bear looking thing and the pink spartan. Also the poster with the flowers and bear. It all just looks so bad.
The story could be great but if its going to look like those posters then I am out.
Well, I can't argue against your preference in visual style, but perhaps when they release some more trailers you will find them more likeable. Of course it's completely possibly that you're right and this becomes a pile of shit, but I hope not since Halo plus anime should equal win, not failure.
I thought the Bones segment in the trailer actually looked like one of the coolest (even if it is taking some liberties with the Halo universe and it's technology), along with Production I.G's effort. I think the one I'm not sure about is Casio's all CGI contribution. It's true that it looks faithful to visual style of the games themselves, but anime hasn't had a particularly good run with all-CG features so far. Only time will tell.
Still they're all cool posters and it seems like the studios have the right idea, can't wait to see how it turns out. After the letdown that was Gotham Knight it'd be nice to see an east meets west anime collab that works.
The animation of the Bones one looks okay to me but it's j those Spartan mecha outfits which seem to be bothering most people. Still, I doubt Bones are stupid so perhaps those combat suits will make a lot more sense when we see more of the shorts.
I like the one with an Arbiter (Not sure if it's the current one) and Cortana, The Gundamn style suit is something entirley new, theres no mention of anything like it in the halo universe. The giant gorilla thing just screams pokemon at me. Not sure about the other two. I think this could be really cool but it's treading on a knife edge.
