Great news for those of you who are on the fence about Call of Duty: World at War. The beta which was previously available only to those of us who were given keys has now gone completely public on Xbox Live. If you head down to the marketplace and go to the recent demos section, you can see for yourself if Treyarch have done a good job building upon the foundations set by Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
I recently started playing the PC beta and though the game is solid, I feel Treyarch didn’t make much effort to improve anything. Though this is an unfair accusation, I can never help feeling that this is just a re-skinned COD4. The online co-op and vehicles are interesting additions, but I was holding my breathe for a new experience, not something that resembles an expansion pack.
Give it a spin and drop a comment; do you think World at War is fresh enough to persuade players’ migration from Modern Warfare, or is Gears of War 2 going to do what Halo couldn’t by dominating it in the Xbox Live activity charts?

Regarding silver accounts not being able to download it, I’ve heard the opposite being said also. Can anyone else confirm if this is true or not? I’m too lazy to go make a new profile just to see for myself.
It’s a online multiplayer beta… how could Live members play online?
Yeah, it can’t be downloaded for accounts under 18 simply because it is rated M and microsoft does not allow M or Not yet rated content to be downloaded for youth accounts. Also, for silver members it cant be downloaded simply because its a multiplayer beta, therefore silver accounts can’t play online.
Dude. Chill the hell out. NO ONE EVER said this is gonna be revolutionary. Treyarch was upfront saying this was gonna be the same shit in WWII. I’ve had the beta for weeks and glad this went online for many. It’s fun, much the same, and great just like COD4.

Yeah, I’m well aware that silver accounts cannot play online multiplayer but there have been some exceptions in the past, so I was curious to know if this was once again the case.

Your argument is invalid because you mix needless abuse with your otherwise acceptable opinion. However I accept both positive and negative responses, and as this is my blog, not yours, I’m more than entitled to write what I think about the beta.
I gave it a spin last night and I am not a big fan. Sure it is fun just like COD4 but it is basicly 100% like COD 4 even most of the perks and challages are the same. I really think they could have come up with more new stuff.

Actually, the only thing I’ve had to get used to is learning to accept that no matter what you blog about on the internet, when it gets on sites like N4G or Digg, you’re bound to get some negative comments, and this is fine by me. I don’t recall forcing you to read my opinions, so if you disagree then that’s cool, but I suggest you get over it.
