DEFEAT
Damn, I encourage us to keep up the winning streak and it seems we do the opposite. As I wasn’t participating in this match, I asked DiabloCableGuy to email me how the match played out. The text in the email had too many errors to point out, so I’ve cleaned it up for everyone’s sake.
The game started on time and we all slid a fresh magazine into our rifles and headed out into our forth clan match of the year. We got our choice of map first, we chose Overgrown for our first Domination game. We had the upper hand early into the game, grabbing both C and B, meeting a stern resistance at Bravo. Eventually our persistence paid off and we took control of B about a minute into the game.
Myself, Jamie and Rudeix kept a hold of Bravo with sheer determination while Sage covered the approach to Charlie with his trusty sniper rifle. Eventually 737 completely stopped attacking B and pressed all their forces into C, overwhelming Sage and Rudeix who had joined him, and took Charlie. Me and Jamie then counter-attacked and took Alpha which then let them take B and let us take C back. This gave us the advantage as we could easily cover both our control points and thus we held both for quite awhile.
Eventually a determined strike from 737 wrenched Alpha back and from that sprung a massive battle over A. 737 were catching up to us and were about 15 points behind us when we managed to take back Alpha in an attack spear-headed by Rudeix. This won our first game.
The second map was Downpour, on Domination. We, like before managed to quickly get C and B and hold them for a while. Unfortunately we did not defend well enough and soon Bravo was in the hands of 737. From that point on they contained us very well in our starting area and kept us locked out of the centre of the map. At the end we managed to break though and take Alpha but it was too little too late, as 737 won.
The third game was Search and Destroy on Crossfire. This game was close, with 737 putting a strong sniper in charge of the main road for most of the game. As the main road was too dangerous, most of the firefights took place in the buildings and alleyways flanking it, although at times people had to expose themselves. Eventually 737 pulled ahead and won the game, four rounds to two.
The final game was Search and Destroy on Wet Works. We were attacking first and found it nigh on impossible to punch a hole in their defences. When we swapped roles it was the oppositions experience with long range grenade throws that broke our line and gave them the chances they needed to secure their last victory.
Overall the game was well played on both sides and everyone was friendly and good sports.
