DEFEAT
Zetzio got the map choice in this first round, picking their strongest map, Crossfire. With a strong sniper on both teams, action was forced into the side buildings lining the road. The lead continuously swapped between the two teams, all eight players evidently having equal skill. In the dying moments, ZTO got a string of kills, stealing the win.
The next round was Headquarters, admittedly one of ZTO’s weaker game modes. Taking a map we were all familiar with, ZTO were hoping to go 2-0. Grabbing C and A early in the game, ZTO did their best to defend these two points. A strong offensive on A from Yellow Melons however, overwhelmed the ZTO team. From there, ZTO were unable to recover and lost the round by 50 points.
Y-M’s map choice now and they picked Pipeline. This round would be decisive in terms of who would go into the final round on top, so all was to play for. An early rush onto C by Y-M took ZTO by surprise. ZTO were unable to grab a foot hold, constantly battling to keep position B and take position C. They were pushed back on each offensive, Y-M quite happy to sit back and bed in. When ZTO did take C, Y-M counter attacked quickly, taking B. In the final stages of the round ZTO broke through, capturing A, and keeping it and B. Unfortunately it was too little too late.
ZTO needed to win this round to get a draw at best. Y-M performed excellently on this map, obviously very confident in their abilities here. After taking an early lead Y-M defended their positions very well. A few unlucky spawns for the ZTO team, and the sense of sheer desperation, causing rookie mistakes cost them the round, handing the victory to Y-M.

It’s good to finally see the fucking summary online. Nice write-up Jamie, glad someone took the initiative.
