I doubt anyone among us plays Maple Story anymore, but I know there are those of us who once wasted many hours of our life on that game. I remember seeing a lot of news posts about how World of Warcraft has roughly twelve million subscribers, so seeing Gamasutra post about Maple Story’s registered user base was quite an interesting statistic. The total global users are now ninety-two million according to Nexon. That’s a massive number, but obviously Maple Story is free to play so if Nexon are counting every account someone has made, then the numbers are not nearly as impressive.
