Steam has a new friend by the name of NCsoft, who are now distributing part of their games catalogue on Steam. The titles in question are Guild Wars plus all the expansion, Lineage and City of Heroes (Architect Edition). Guild Wars is on my list of games to try so I’m quite happy with this news, but the real benefit of this will hopefully be when NCsoft’s future titles are also released on Steam, such as Guild Wars 2 perhaps. On a side note, NCsoft are also the fellows developing the gorgeous looking Aion: The Tower of Eternity (pictured) which I’ve been keeping my perverted eyeballs on for a while now.

I like Steam because it’s the closest thing to Xbox Live you can find on the PC, and I’m not counting Games for Windows Live because that’s still too unfamiliar in my opinion. I like having all my games listed in one place, and having a friend list that I can access with a few key presses. That’s why I’m pretty happy to see that my latest Steam update has given me an in-game web browser to mess around with on top of all that. As you can see from my screenshot which is totally not trying to advertise my blog, I’m sure I’ll be using this instead of minimising my game windows to quickly check information on Wowhead while playing World of Warcraft for example. So, launch your Steam client and go to ‘File > Check for Steam client updates…’ and enjoy the luxury of pornography while you wait for that god damn respawn timer to hit zero so you can fix your awful kill/death ratio.

This is a game I’ve been meaning to pick up but completely forgot about, what with all these AAA games coming out. As if Audiosurf wasn’t already a pretty good bargain, Steam are now selling it for £1.93. If you’re planning on picking it up, do it quick because the offer is only for this week!

In case some of you aren’t familiar with the game, it’s a puzzle/rhythm hybrid where players collect blocks which are in sync with the music being played. You can load up any of your tracks and the level will change, so as long as you have new songs the game will always have new levels.

It’s not every day you get to find a game which has a MetaCritic score of 85 sold for this kind of price, so pick it up and you (probably) won’t be disappointed. I’ve embedded a quick gameplay video after the jump for those who need more than words to be persuaded.
