I’ve been poking around the forums to see if anyone would be interested in a Ventrilo server for Zetzio and the response has been quite positive. So as promised on the forum, I looked into purchasing a server for us as soon as I got back from the London MCM Expo. In case some people aren’t familiar with Ventrilo, it’s a VoIP program which lets you voice chat in a group, a little like party chat on Xbox Live. You can use it to communicate with your team on a PC game or just drop in for a friendly chat with other members of the community. Information on joining our server can be found after the jump.

I’m a little late with this explanation but better late than never I guess. Early in August my company went to court with another party over a dispute which has escalated and is still ongoing. Obviously, legal action is ’srs bsns’ and I’ve had to take a break from the blog to focus on this case. Making matters worse is my computer dying on me roughly a month ago, my attempts at fixing it haven’t done much yet. I could have written some articles in my spare time but that isn’t going to happen until I can find a Phoenix Down for the PC, but for now all I can do is apologise and post an image of a cute puppy.

We still have no idea what was causing all the phpBB3 issues, but this was as good a time as any to move to new forum software as it was something I had been considering in the past. Our new forum is quite different from what many of you have grown accustomed to, so please take some time in learning how it works, and read on for some guidelines.

A few people have contacted me saying the forums are redirecting them to the home page whenever they click a category. I’m having the same problem myself and neither I nor Darfuria have done anything to cause this so we’ve no idea what the hell is going on with phpBB3 all of a sudden. We’re working on solving the problem by upgrading to the latest version of phpBB3 and hoping the problem fixes itself, though there is a risk it may create more problems.

There seems to be an issue with forum registrations at the moment, which explains why it has been so long since anyone created an account on our forums. The issue has probably been around for weeks, perhaps even months, and Dan can’t seem to figure out what’s causing it. Until we can work around this problem, don’t expect any new faces on the forums.

The ‘contact us‘ page is now online for you to spam us with. You can use this to contact us about anything, such as suggestions, complaints or news tips. This goes without saying but there’s no limit to some people’s idiocy so I’ll just remind everyone to please use their real email address when sending us mail. Most of the time we will reply to your message, so unless you’re just sending us abuse for the lulz and don’t want to reveal your identity, use your real email address. The contact page link can be found in the footer of any Zetzio page, next to our RSS link. That’s that anyway, not much else I can say about the contact page.

Today I spent a lot of time thinking about how to make the most of Zetzio as a whole. Recently I decided to cease our clan activities so that our community could focus more on having fun as friends and less on attending training sessions and matches. Due to things such as my job responsibilities taking more and more time, I’ve not been able to keep a consistent stream of video game news posted on the blog. This, as I just mentioned, made me think about where I was going with Zetzio. So far my content has been pretty inconsistent in terms of how often it was being posted and also what I was actually posting about. I realised that what I really need is a clear objective for Zetzio, something that gave it a very specific purpose. This post will explain the path I’ve currently selected for our community, and also why this path in particular was chosen.

It’s going to be a while until we can make a custom forum template which suits our community’s needs, and so it took me this long to fuck it and just use a pre-made template which has the same colour scheme as the blog until we begin working on our custom one. No credit to us is needed, all I’ve done is change the god damn header image and that’s about it. I’m not a big fan of the icons in this template so I may create my own at some point, but right now I’ve got other priorities so I’m not making any promises in that front. Hope you guys like it; drop a comment if you have any feedback.

Truth is, I’ve been very busy with so many projects and working that, I’ve not really had time to devote to the website of late, which is pretty bad form of me, I know. Anyway, there are some updates for the website; some that have been made, and some that are being worked on.

As our ‘private’ Call of Duty 4 tournament is around the corner, I’ve decided to purge all inactive members to help ease the planning and match process. Despite previous warnings, the following players have failed to improve on their responsiblities, thus forcing me to remove them from the team until they can correct their mistakes.

• Cemboi – poor training attendance
• KingRaven - inactive
• Rudeix Cube -  inactive
• GrimTalos - poor training attendance

These players are more than welcome to re-join the team upon improving their attendance. The team must remain consistent, and a single weak link can ruin an entire chain. Now that these members are gone, what we have left is a team comprised of active players, excluding those of you who cannot play due to a 360 failure or some other reason. Training nights are important for the team, they’re a time and place where we get together for some games, but most importantly it’s the only time where the team gathers together for teamwork and coordination.
